Geplaatst op 26 Feb 2006, 10:52:07 GMT: Yes, I know. I've been neglecting this place for a while now. As lots of other things as well. School started again and I'm now 3 weeks in my final year giving lots of chaos and hectic. It's been calculated that if I work through in every holiday that I only have to make 60 hours a week :(.
Some more interesting newsbits though.
Windapple has translated my moving platforms tutorial and my Common flaws within GM games article to German for the German GMC. You can find links to the translations on both resource pages. I've also begin accepting requests for other translations. Anyone interested in translating a GM resource to an other language please contact me and we can work something out. You can reach me at blog [at] simondonkers [dot] com.
Some other good news is that I currently got a week long Carnaval holiday. I'me planning to make some free time to write some more articles for my GM website. Perhaps also examples and tutorials. Everybody, go fill my inbox with resource requests and I'll pick the most interesting onces out.
Other then that I don't have much GM news to report. I'm currently busy catching up on everything I missed the last few weeks and months. I'm also spending a lot of time on the Dutch GMC as a global moderator and moderator Experts forum and Game Design.
I try to support the development of Game Maker by increasing it's popularity by maintaining a GM related site and working as a moderator. I've also released several games as opensource and currently have 3 GM registration keys. What I'm wondering is what do you do to help the development of Game Maker, increase it's popularity, increase the quality of GM games, ... . Also what things do you think need to be done to increase the popularity of Game Maker. Looking forward to your replies in my blog.

Er.... I a moderate a forum.... er....I registered. Typically I help people with their GM questions... er.... What the GM Site needs are better games. *cough*
1. I am registered once, but bought two keys; one for me and the other one as a prize in the GMG two-rooms contest.
2. I maintain a Game Maker related website with tutorials, examples, scripts and a game. The site is ad-free except for one part which isn't targetted at GM users.
3. I am moderator and reviewer at Game Maker Games. I have written 7 reviews as of now, which is a bit pathetic, but more will come. Takagi is probably way more active as a moderator than I am though.
4. I have donated to GM websites so far, but I'll keep the information disclosed.
...and now I'm off to finish my website, so I can suggest Pixel2Life.com to add a Game Maker section to their huge tutorial base. If this isn't going to increase GM's popularity, I'll be astonished!
Well that EO community is really getting boring now. You're still the last blogger... That's 13 days ago, if I'm not miscounting. Almost 2 weeks!
Actually, I'm not doing very much to increase Game Maker's popularity. Just, well, use it! I have the problem that I just don't finish my games. The only finished games I made were minigames, except for some easy games when I was a novice. :S Usually when there's going to be alot of work (music) or when I'm stuck (programming) I quit trying after a while.
